Long Way Around
Limited edition of 110
When designing Long Way Around, we spoke of secrets and the underground. The book is made with a double spine – that is, two pamphlets joined by a long, accordion-folded cover. The stretching centre comes as a surprise to the reader: a moment of alarm when the back half collapses away, followed by wonder at the fully revealed contents page.
The final pieces work as an interesting literary and visual experience. Prose, poetry and illustration from fifteen different writers and artists are based on the central theme of 'long way around'. They beckon the reader to follow, whether the journeys be dark, hopeful or adventurous. Just remember: Never follow foxes.
This book is in the collection of The National Irish Visual Arts Library (NIVAL) at NCAD, Dublin.
Featured in the Impressions Book Art Exhibition 2016, Galway.
